"Skill Struck has let me have the students go at their own pace and allowed me to not have to make up multiple levels of work. Instead I get to spend my time helping the students with where they are learning. Also I can easily challenge my way of advanced learners and give them the opportunity to earn Python certification. Thus giving them a step ahead in the job world. [Skill Struck] has been wonderful to work with and they listen to suggestions to improve their software and have provided an opportunity that my low income students may not have had otherwise.”
“I cannot tell you how exciting this has been to implement coding in our rotations and the students are beyond excited! I’ve never had them enjoy computers as much as they have since we started Skill Struck. Implementing the program was so smooth. I actually feel like I know what I’m doing when teaching coding. I look forward to seeing what the students will learn and accomplish with Skill Struck.”
“When we were looking at new computer science curriculum, we wanted to be careful about not overwhelming the already overwhelmed classroom teachers. Skill Struck was a good fit for us, because we could have our computer lab paras implement the program during the PLC rotations. Having their questions answered quickly and feeling the support from Skill Struck’s customer service team has been invaluable.”
“The curriculum has not only grasped the attention of the students but has held onto their attention. It is amazing to see these students come in every day eager to see what I present to them next in Skill Stuck… the technical team has helped me with everything that I have reported to them. They are fast not only in responding to me but also with finding and implementing a solution.”
"Many curriculum resources promise support during the sales process, but leave much to be desired once the product is acquired. Skill Struck is not one of those companies. We have been extremely pleased with the implementation support and response time to questions as we revamp our Computer Science program. We are already looking to expand our use of Skill Struck at my campus and there’s potential for it to be used at all levels of K-12 education."
"I have most liked that Skill Struck includes helpful videos in order to help us through the lesson. I also like that it has descriptive instructions and that we can use the site anytime even when we're not in school."
"For the teachers it's great, they can go back and see how students are progressing and it has auto-grading built in, so that is really effective because going back to read and grade multiple lines of code can take an extensive amount of time. It is helpful for the students as well to be able to auto-grade their own code because we want them to be self-guided learners."
"The students like the platform and they are progressing through the lessons. We have students picking up coding for the first time and they are enjoying it and following along easily. I really like that Skill Struck has a lot of extra activities and challenges for my more advanced students so I can spend more time with the students that need help."
"Using the teacher portal has been super easy and seamless. Adding students, removing them, assigning them to different classes has been a breeze."
"I've seen a lot of benefits with using Skill Struck this last semester. Having a mapped out, structured way to learn and experience the Computer Science curriculum really freed up time for me to give students one on one attention. It also gave me more opportunities to give the students additional programming assignments to help them understand the concepts better.”
“I have really enjoyed being able to view a student’s code at one click of a button. So if students email me and let me know they are struggling, I can open their code and give them immediate and specific feedback. I am really appreciative of Skill Struck. It has made teaching the students a lot easier than it would have been otherwise.”
"We truly value our partnership with Skill Struck in our Computer Science and Cyber Academic Pathway courses. There is exemplary service, quality, and professionalism in working with the entire Skill Struck team. All of the content is fun and engaging for our students! Regarding the support and partnership, they are always on top of everything. Small issues are resolved quickly, and that is not typical with other EdTech companies. I am hoping to encourage leaders in the state to back your program for other Cyber or CS instruction across California."
"I am a first-year teacher and a month before school started my CTE director introduced me to the Skill Struck program as a way to teach my Computer Programming class. Now that we are about a month into the school year I could not be more grateful that he did. The program and the people behind it are innovative, intelligent, and organized. The platform is very user-friendly and l have been able to guide my students easily through the curriculum."
"I liked how it's not just sitting there and having people tell you what to do. You learn, and then you do what you want with that knowledge. I thought it would be boring or dumb, but it was really worth it."
